31 MARCH - ARCHITEAM @MELBOURNE DESIGN WEEK
31 MARCH - Trajectories - Home
Date: Wednesday 31 March
Time: 6.30pm
Location: Brickworks
A round-table talk with the ArchiTeam Conference Creative Directors of the ArchiTeam Biennial conference "Trajectories" and its broad themes with a few special guests.
“The real work of an architect today is to have a vision of the future of life”- (Jean Nouvel) Why would anyone be interested in what a bunch of architects have to say? Due to the pandemic, many Victorians have a new found appreciation for what it means to dwell in a space, in a community and in a city. Architects are the canary-in-the-coal-mine of the shifts in the ways we live. And many are already seeing a shift in priorities for the design and occupation of Homes in their upcoming Residential projects. The panel members will also share their insights from current works they are designing, many of which were commenced after the pandemic hit.
What should this new vision for our Homes be? What is the role of the architect in this? What needs to change? What will remain the same? What are our visions of future life?
