CPD Workshop – HR & Employment for Small Practice
Setting up your practice is one thing, but at what point do you need to hire staff and who do you need to run a business well? What do you need to have in place to legally hire and manage staff effectively?
This workshop will provide information from skilled professionals on employment contracts and employment law (including the National Employment Standards (NES) and the Architects Award (2002)), human resource requirements and business management needs for your small practice.

This unit of competency encompasses a holistic understanding of the organisation of the profession, practice and business of architecture, with the objective of providing value through sustainable, timely and effective professional services in accordance with the ethical and legal obligations of an architect to clients, colleagues, employees and to broader communities.

Learning Outcomes:
- Identify the time for growth and the options available to hire staff.
- Learn about employment contracts, industry standards and legal obligations.
- Gain insight into managing staff and growing a studio.

FAQ
I won't be able to make it to the session, or might miss part of it, will there be a recording that I can catch up on?
Yes, there will be a recording. All registered attendees will receive a link to view it the following week alongside their CPD quiz to receive points. For anyone who isn't registered, it will be made available on CPD Online in a month's time.
How do I get my CPD points?
A CPD quiz will be sent alongside the session recording which you can complete. The quiz will be open for 2 weeks. Certificates will be sent out to those who have completed the quiz after it is closed.
I have a specific question for the speaker / panel. How do I ask it prior to the event?
You can send it to admin@architeam.net.au and Ophelia will pass it on for you.
