THURS 25 AUG - PASSIVE HOUSE
ArchiTeam x APHA
Date: Thursday 25 August 2022
Time: 10am - 12pm
Location: Zoom
More than ever, clients are inspired to minimise the environmental impact of their homes and as such the interest in Passive House is on the rise in Australia.
What is Passive House? Is it different to passive solar design? Is it difficult and costly to build? What does it mean to be certified Passive House or a certified designer? These are some common questions from clients and fellow architects.
Come and join us as some of the industry’s leading experts demystify Passive House. Learn how all buildings, new and existing, can be energy efficient, healthy, comfortable and resilient to our climate – whether you are in the tropics, or a cool temperate region.
Hear from Australian Passive House Association chairperson Kate Nason, about the need for Passive House to become the norm in our construction industry. Marcus Strang, one of only three certifiers of PH in Australia, will provide a summary of what is involved in the Passive House certification process. ArchiTeam member Marc Bernstein, of Melbourne Design studios, will share his experience of designing and building Passive Houses. He not only talks the talk, but walks the walk, having designed, built and now living in his very own Passive House in Melbourne!
